According to the two companies, the first virtual conventions organized by Schöffel and Oberalp went well. Schöffel’s 100-percent digital sales meeting was held on May 19 and 20, involving roughly 130 participants from about 15 different countries in all the major markets, more than originally expected. A total of 750 people participated in the live stream portion of Oberalp’s event on Wednesday, May 20, another 880 people watched the video of the conference the next day, but many more logged in afterwards to watch the video and see the products, apparently including some competitors. Comparatively, the group’s physical sales meeting in the Austrian village of Alpbach has been attracting each time more or less 400 clients and 200 company employees. According to Textilwirtschaft, Mammut and Vaude have also held their own digital sales meetings. Organizing three different “studios” for different regions of the world, Mammut’s sales convention attracted about 300 participants.
