A 14 percent sales increase in the fourth quarter helped Crocs to break the magic $1 billion threshold for its annual turnover in 2011. Total revenues jumped by 27 percent for the year to $1,000,903. Net income almost doubled, reaching a level of $112.8 million against $67.7 million the year before. Higher average selling prices and the introduction of new models under the well-known brand name contributed to the sales increase for the year. In Europe, the turnover grew by only 6 percent to $24 million in the latest quarter, but was up by 34 percent to $171.2 million for the full year. For the year, global sales over the internet went up by 28 percent to $95.9 million, while sales through Crocs' own stores increased by 32 percent to $306.7 million. Orders were up by 19 percent at year-end, indicating that the momentum is still on for Crocs.
