Adidas Group is taking its outdoor products to the U.S. starting in autumn 2011 with a new range of footwear, apparel and accessories, including the Terrex concept, which has met with good response since it was launched in 2009. Agron will be the exclusive distributor in the country, where it already sells Adidas accessories, and the company is setting up a team just for the outdoor collection. It will sell in specialty stores and Adidas Sport Performance stores. The line will first be shown at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City next January, as there was no decent space for it at this month’s summer exhibition. Agron’s new Outdoor Business Unit is led by Greg Thomsen and Larry Harrison. Thomsen was most recently the chief executive of Pacifica LTM, a holding company involved in various outdoor sports and industrial companies. Harrison’s background includes 10 years on the board of the Outdoor Industry Association.
