After some discussion between the companies, the trademark infringement lawsuit filed by Woolrich against Eddie Bauer has been withdrawn. In January, Woolrich claimed in a court action that starting last fall Eddie Bauer infringed on its slogan “The Original Outdoor Clothing Company,” which Woolrich had been using since 1997. However, after extensive discussions, the companies concluded that Eddie Bauer was not infringing on the trademark and that the two companies could co-exist.
