Regatta posted an 18.5 percent increase in sales to £139.8 million (€155.9m-$184.7m) for the year ended Jan. 31. According to filed accounts, 5.6 percent of the increase was attributable to the depreciation of the pound sterling. The company, which is based in Manchester, trades under two brand names - Regatta Great Outdoors, which is its core outdoor brand, and Dare2b, its mountain adventure label. Its operating profit jumped to £14.2 million (€15.8m-$18.8m) as compared to £6.4 million in the previous year. The company said a number of infrastructure changes in logistics and its main offices led to the substantial improvement in its operating results. Founded in 1981, Regatta today operates in 55 countries. The company has 38 stores in the U.K. and 42 in other countries.
