Béal, the leading producer of climbing harnesses, has sold Vertical, a subsidiary that sells hiking and mountaineering clothing, to Raidlight, another French company that sells clothing, shoes and accessories for trail-running and other sports. In their past financial year, Raidlight and Vertical had an annual turnover of about €2.3 million and €1.2 million, respectively. Many of their products are made at the same French factories. Vertical is the new name given to a company previously called Francital. Béal bought the company after the death of its owner, Patrice Dheu, in a mountain accident.
