Berghaus had left the Italian market in 2007, when it stopped working with Aku. The brand is now returning to Italy though an exclusive distribution contract with Pro Sport, which is building up a portfolio of brands in the outdoor and snow sports sectors. It recently signed distribution deals also for the Bjørn Dæhlie, Swany and Swans brands. In this connection, it has hired a dedicated sales manager for these sectors, Stefano Ben, who has been following for 20 years at two other distribution companies. Pro Sport is also the distributor of Uhlsport, Kempa and OP. It is run by Christian Gartner and owned by Gartner Sports, which also has a joint venture with New Balance for the Italian market.
