Canada Goose has announced that it will open a new factory in Winnipeg, its third manufacturing facility in the capital of the Canadian province of Manitoba and the seventh wholly-owned factory for the company, adding to three in Toronto and one in Boisbriand, Quebec. It will be the brand's largest production facility to date. Canada Goose already employs more than 1,000 people in the two existing factories in Winnipeg. The new 128,000-square-foot facility is expected to employ 700 more people over the next three years. The factory will reportedly produce classic Canada Goose parkas as well as newer lightweight styles. Also within its Winnipeg operations, the company has announced the expansion of its sewing training school program, which provides free sewing training, in partnership with Opportunities for Employment (OFE). The successful completion of the training translates for graduates into full-time employment opportunities at Canada Goose.
