Columbia Sportswear Company is working worldwide to prevent counterfeiting of its brands and products. In May, it got a preliminary injunction against a group of retailers, manufacturers and franchisees in India that were selling several counterfeit Columbia brands. Over the winter the company managed to prevent the sale of fake branded jackets in a group of U.S. discount stores, and it says that last year it staged raids on at least 60 counterfeit factories in China. Since 2003 Columbia has confiscated millions of fake products and labels of its brands in more than 50 countries with the help of local, national and international law enforcement.
