Cornel Grämiger, managing director of Schöffel Schweiz, will leave the Swiss subsidiary of the ski and outerwear brand by the end of this year. Grämiger told THE COMPASS that he was going to look for a new challenge now that Schöffel’s business in Switzerland is doing fine. Leaving when things are at its best was his philosophy three years ago when he quit Salewa. Grämiger has been in the outdoor industry since 1983: First he was a retailer, then he acted as sales agent for Fjällräven. From 1995 until 2005, he ran Salewa’s subsidiary in the country before he switched to Schöffel. According to his own information, he increased Schöffel’s annual sales in the country from 5 million Swiss francs to nearly CHF 8 million (€4.9m-$7.8m).
