Already in April, Italian hiking and leisure footwear company Asolo has opened a new factory in Sibiu, Western Romania, in the presence of the president of Asolo Srl, Marco Zanatta, local authorities, international customers and partners. Asolo RO, an Asolo Group company founded 23 years ago, has already moved its production facility, previously situated in another location in Sibiu, to the new plant, which was designed and built specifically to meet the needs of the company. It includes a production area (4,000 m²), offices (300 m²) and a showroom. Compared to the previous plant, the capacity in the new facility has been increased by 30 percent, thanks to a 20 percent larger production area, better internal logistics, more modern technology and an increase in the height of the building that allows high-bay racking systems to be installed in all parts of the production area. The new plant was built in 2020 with environmentally friendly materials and is energy self-sufficient. Asolo RO employs over 200 people and manufactures 80 percent of Asolo’s total annual production.
