Design Cykler, a Danish bicycle retailer based in Skive, Jutland, with eight physical stores in major cities, and Cykelpartner.dk are merging to form DCCP Group A/S. Kenneth Mortensen, the newly appointed director of DCCP, said in a press release, “It takes two to tango, and we’ve wanted to merge the companies for a long time. It’s clear that customers want to shop both online and in physical stores, so now we can offer that to customers on the same platform.”
The result of the merger of the two independent retailers is a new omnichannel platform that will allow the new company to offer products in major cities, where much of the assortment can also be seen and tried. At the same time, the new company will stock well over 35,000 different products that can reach consumers within 24 hours.
Both retailers will continue to do business under their established names. The merger will be completed on March 1, 2021. Both companies were founded in 1988, Cykelpartner started as an online store in 2005.
