The Calida Group continues to slim down the Lafuma Group, focusing it on the Lafuma and Millet brands. It reports that Rainbow, a company founded by Emmanuel Debruères and Jean-Christophe Chetail, has offered to acquire Oxbow from Lafuma, adding that Debruères and Chetail seek to raise Oxbow toa new stage of development. Oxbow was founded in France in 1985 as a brand of ready-to-wear apparel inspired by surfing and motorsports. It has been a subsidiary of Lafuma since 2005. Lafuma is now studying the Rainbow’soffer. The sale could take place in the second quarter of 2020, after consultation with Oxbow’s labor representatives. It would follow Nike’s recent divestiture of another surfwear brand, Hurley. A few months ago, Lafuma agreed to sell another brand in its portfolio, Eider, to the Korean K2 outdoor group.
