Alpkit, an outdoor brand based in Nottinghamshire, England, founded in 2004 and operating its own factory in Nottingham, has published its 2021 sustainability report. Among the most notable CSR achievements of the previous year was the brand becoming a B Corp. Alpkit, which operates under the mantra “Leave no trace in the outdoors,” was independently assessed and its score led both the average for all companies and a peer group. The brand has also launched the Alpkit Foundation to directly support food projects during the lockdown. The foundation has now awarded £300,000 (€340,280-$408,939) to 900 projects benefiting over 15,000 people. The brand also became a Living Wage Employer in the midst of the pandemic and reduced its carbon intensity and offset Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gases through tree planting projects in the U.K. If you are interested in reading the full Alpkit sustainability report, you can download it here.
On Feb. 11, Alpkit is offering a webinar with Rob Harrison of Ethical Consumer Magazine, Oli Pepper, co-founder, director and owner of Morvélo bicycle apparel from the U.K., and Kate Sandle of B Corp to discuss whether companies can be a force for good. After an initial discussion, there will be an active Q&A session and everyone is welcome to participate. Ask your questions on the day of the event or email your questions in advance to together@alpkit.com. You can register for the Zoom webinar here.
