Deuter's employees, partners, friends and families have donated another €5,000 to support the oldest primary school in Kathmandu, Shanti Nikanja, which was rebuilt by the German non-profit organization Nepalhilfe Beilngries e.V. in 2013, thanks to financial support from the German backpack manufacturer. The school building, which until then resembled a ruin, now consists of three floors and 10 classrooms. The last project to be inaugurated was an e-learning center with a new computer where school children can learn foreign languages. Nepalhilfe Beilngries is currently planning to support several new projects in Nepal. The check was handed over at Deuter's headquarters in Gersthofen, Germany, as part of a lecture given by Manfred Lindner, second chairman of the non-profit organization, on the “Deuter School” and the hospitable Nepalese culture.
