For the third time in a row, Dynafit, Salewa's ski-touring brand, supports initiatives to protect snow leopards, the animal that the brand has in its logo. The company invites freeriders in Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland to take part in the International Snow Leopard Day, an event that takes place between Feb. 18 and May 5 in those countries. For every meter of altitude achieved by each participating person, Dynafit will pay 1 euro cent. The money will go to Snow Leopard Trust, an NGO that works to prevent the possible extinction of the animal. The global population of snow leopards is estimated to be between 3,500 and 7,000, threatened by illegal hunting and the destruction of their natural environment. Ski-touring enthusiasts can register for the series of events at www.dynafit.com.
