German outdoor retail chain Globetrotter, part of Frilufts Retail Europe, a subsidiary of Fenix Outdoor International, is once again hosting its ”Greener Week” from Nov. 22-27. For the fourth year in a row, the outdoor retailer is thus offering a range of sustainable alternatives to Black Friday’s unsustainable low-price sales madness (Nov. 27, 2021). The retailer’s focus this time is on second-hand products: Since Nov. 1, the range of workshop-approved second-hand items has been extended to all of the chain’s brick-and-mortar stores, where they are displayed in special sales areas and marked with the ”A Greener Choice” product seal. Globetrotter introduced the seal in 2018. Starting Friday, Nov. 26, second-hand items will also be offered in the online store under the motto “Products with a History.”

In addition to the expanded sale of second-hand products that have been inspected in the company’s own workshops, repaired if necessary and provided with a 12-month warranty, Globetrotter also offers to buy used items. Customers can exchange their previously used equipment for a store voucher during “Greener Week” at all Globetrotter retail stores.

Globetrotter’s sustainability podcast ”Neue Horizonte” (“New Horizons”; in German) will also return right on time for the Greener Week with an interview of Vaude’s CEO, Antje von Dewitz.
