John Jansen, managing director of Keen in Europe, has agreed to become the acting president of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) until the organization's annual assembly in July. This comes after the untimely passing last year of Holger Bismann, managing director of Patagonia Europe and president of EOCA. Jansen will work with Nick Brown, owner and manager of Nikwax, who remains vice president and also becomes strategy adviser of EOCA. Furthermore, the association reports that it has a new full member, KORS, the summer trade fair for the U.K. outdoor industry, held in Kendal. KORS is also a member of the 1% for the Planet organization, and this year it has chosen to give 1 percent of its annual revenues to EOCA, marking the first time that the association will receive a donation under this scheme. Meanwhile, EOCA has picked Hansjörg Auer, an Austrian mountaineer, as the association's new ambassador.
