Lycra's EcoMade fibers of Type 166E and 162E have been certified as meeting the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). The company can now use the label for its marketing. The fibers are made in Brazil and present the same characteristics as regular stretch Lycra fibers but include waste fiber collected at the company's factories and blended with virgin polymer. They represent Lycra's first such use of waste fiber. In keeping with its Planet Agenda policy for sustainability, the company will also be converting most of its Coolmax and Thermolite fibers to recycled content by the end of 2021.
