Nikwax, the U.K. specialty company that markets maintenance solutions for outdoor gear, comes to the relief of refugees from Sudan in the Chad desert in partnership with TchadSolaire, a non-governmental organization. The organization equips refugees with extremely simple stoves made of cardboard and aluminum. Due to the steam, however, those stoves do not last for long. Nikwax has found a solution thanks to a special chemical mixture that helps the stoves to last longer. The stoves are an important tool to keep the refugees, notably women, from having to collect wood, when women in Chad are often attacked or raped.
