In their new collections for spring 2022, Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd. brands Rab and Lowe Alpine have increased the share of recycled materials within their ranges. After integrating more recycled fabrics into the apparel collections in earlier seasons, the U.K. companies will also use recycled materials in their sleeping bags and backpacks ranges. Design teams of both brands are partnering with suppliers Gore-Tex and Pertex to develop fabrics containing varying levels of recycled content. Swapping out virgin materials for recycled fibers is part of the brand’s shared aim to reach net zero by 2030, published in their 2021 sustainability report. By 2030, the goal is to offer at least 50 percent of the fabrics used being 100 percent renewable or recycled.
