Schuster, the big Munich-based outdoor and sporting goods retailer, is launching a three-week campaign later this month to make consumers familiar with sustainable products. All across the store, products that are made with respect for the environment will be highlighted with a specially designed logo. The retailer will inform customers about sustainable manufacturing, recycling of raw materials and the advantages of goods that are produced near the point of sale. Additionally, Schuster has joined forces with Deuter, the backpack company, in a nonprofit initiative offering special bags designed for collecting trash in the mountains and removing it from the wilderness. The bag can be purchased at Schuster for €3, of which €1 goes to an environmentalist campaign, notably toward the protection of mountain forests organized by the government of Bavaria.
