Schöffel has again been awarded “Leader Status” by the international and independent Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). The family-run company from the south of Germany achieved the highest level of compliance with fair production processes for the sixth time in a row and holds the current top score among all outdoor brands. As repeated attainment of leader status presupposes continuous improvement, Schöffel has met much stricter requirements in social responsibility during the period under review than in previous years.
As an FWF member, Schöffel subjects its production facilities to numerous audits with clear specifications for working and production conditions, among other things. The company achieved a monitoring quota of 100 percent and a benchmark score of 90 – currently more than any other outdoor brand. The monitoring quota indicates that all production plants have been checked for their working conditions within the last three years. Leader Status is the highest category a member of FWF can achieve. It is based on numerous performance indicators that relate to a company’s dealings with production partners and the working conditions in factories. FWF leaders demonstrate best practices in areas such as living wages and freedom of association, and they continuously review their internal processes and supply chains.
