Sherpa Adventure Gear has announced it is sponsoring the 2015 Restore Vision Expedition team, which will provide free eye care to villagers in the Upper Gorkha, a remote and impoverished region of Nepal, on May 1-10. The brand will supply functional outdoor clothing for the expedition's eye surgeons, technicians and volunteers, who will help as eye camp assistants, ambassadors and interpreters. The medical team, a project of Dooley Intermed International, is planning to serve more than 1,500 villagers with eye exams, eyeglasses and sight-restoring surgeries. Sherpa Adventure Gear previously sponsored the 2013 Mustang Gift of Sight Expedition, also organized by Dooley Intermed. The 2015 Restore Vision Expedition will use mule caravans to transport the equipment and supplies to Upper Gorkha, which are required to set up its two temporary eye care clinics.
