Sympatex accelerates its effort to reduce the volume of materials used in production that may increase the greenhouse effect. In cooperation with DSM, its Dutch manufacturing partner, the company intends to reduce the use of carbon in its new materials based on “co-polymers,” which are described as having a 50 percent smaller carbon footprint than the usual PTFE polymers. In precise figures, the innovation means 150 tons of CO2 less for the production of 500,000 jackets. The saved amount of CO2 would correspond to the emissions caused by 30 trips by car around the world (40,000 kilometers).
