The Conservation Alliance contributed $1.6 million to 43 conservation organizations throughout North America in 2015, according to its latest annual report. Adding to its funding record, the Alliance attracted 27 new members last year. Each member company pays annual dues that go into a central fund, which the organization claims to give in its entirety to conservation organizations. Through its Advocacy Program, the Conservation Alliance provided 17 opportunities for member companies to directly engage in the conservation work of grantees. Activities included the training of business leaders in conservation policy as well as meeting with members of the U.S. Congress and Obama Administration representatives, to explain the importance of environmental preservation for outdoor businesses. Also in 2015, the Conservation Alliance hosted five Wild Drinks gatherings, a series of events that brought together employees of member companies with grantees for a day of field work or informational happy hours.
