The European Outdoor Conservation Association (Eoca) has had its best year ever. Among the 31 new members are Adventure.ie, the team-building and mountaineering company; NZero, the Spanish producer ecologically friendly ski-wax; Söll World, the Spanish ski-wear company; Redelk, the Italian producer of performance apparel; HSD Zipper, the Asian zip manufacturer; Altidude, the German producer of Merino-wool headwear; Cumulus, the Polish producer of fast, light outdoor clothing and equipment; and Wind X-treme, the Italian producer of neck and headwear. In all, membership rose by 23 percent year on year to 158. Thanks to contributions to the Summit Membership program from The North Face, Keen, Pomoca and Smartwool, Eoca increased its funding for conservation projects, pledging some €510,000 this year. Some members raised further funds for the association through consumer events (Original Buff, Arc'teryx), Black and Green Friday events (La Sportiva, Salewa) and other activities (Gregory Packs, Ternua). Fundraisers at Ispo and OutDoor by Ispo generated a further €60,000 for 2020. Eoca's Plastic Pledge – part of its “Plastic Free: Mountain to Sea” campaign against single-use plastic – has been endorsed by 69 companies exhibiting at trade shows. This includes eight non-members. Eoca's current Sustaining Members are Pertex, Keen Footwear, The North Face, Nikwax, Ispo and OutDoor by Ispo (Messe München), and the European Outdoor Group (EOG).
