The European Outdoor Conservation Association has selected Nadine Horn to be one of its ambassadors, the group's first woman in this role. The hard-core athlete spent two months cycling around Spain last year – 150 kilometers per day – and this September will participate in her first “half ironman” competition. Her training begins on April 21 and consists of cycling about 460km across Switzerland, swimming 550km through Germany in the Danube River, and running 315km through Austria. Her activities will also raise money for “Health Boost for the Blue Danube,” designed to raise awareness of clean inland waterways and fund restoration projects along the river's banks. Her journey will be tracked at www.outdoorconservation.eu.
