(SGI+) The North Face (TNF) is launching the Renewed Design Residency, a new training opportunity for its designers on the principles of circular design, which they will be able to integrate into future TNF collections. The project is part of the brand’s Renewed program, launched in 2018 to enable TNF to upcycle and sell pre-owned TNF apparel that has been returned or damaged. The Design Residency will see rotating groups of designers attend bi-annual workshops and full-immersion sessions. As part of the program, designers will also create custom, limited edition pieces from clothing that was previously thought to be irreparable. A pilot workshop was held in October 2019.
