The Private Brands division of REI commits itself to using only 100 percent Bluesign-certified fabrics by the time the American cooperative retail chain launches its 2018 product line. The division develops private label apparel and equipment for REI's stores. The American outdoor retailer has been a member of Bluesign since 2008. By now, 25 percent of the fabrics employed in its private label collections already have Bluesign certification. REI approached $2 billion in sales at its 132 physical stores and its online portal.
