The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Group has appointed an executive director to head up its legal entity, which was recently established in Amsterdam. Frank Michel has worked for more than 15 years in governmental affairs and in non-governmental organizations regrouping industry interests, such as ZDHC. He was previously the director of regulation and sustainability management for 1WorldSync, a product information network. Michel is meant to intensify supplier training and to pursue the development of industry standards relating to the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL). The ZDHC Group's membership comprises fashion, sports and outdoor brands, along with related associations. They made a commitment to help lead the industry toward zero discharge of hazardous chemicals by 2020.
