Vaude was nominated for the German Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2013, but Hipp won the prize. The competition's award ceremony, which was held for the first time in Germany, took place in Berlin on April 24. Vaude had been nominated in the category of companies with 500 to 4,999 employees, competing against the likes of Microsoft Germany. The winners in the various categories were selected from 220 applications and 20 nominations. Vaude received a certificate that was handed to Antja von Dewitz, chief executive of Vaude, during the award ceremony. Vaude has already stated its objective is to be the most sustainable outdoor manufacturer in Europe by 2015.
