Décathlon has inaugurated a new campus for its three “mountain brands”: Quechua (outdoor), Wed'ze (snow sports) and Simond (climbing). The site regroups nearly 300 people who were previously dispersed over six sites, not including the workers at Simond's factory at Les Ouches. The new campus is located at Passy, near the alpine town of Chamonix and close to Quechua's previous head office. It covers 10,000 square meters for office space, a development and prototyping laboratory and a “Mountain Store” of 2,300 sqm. All the products of the three “mountain brands” are offered for testing or sale in the store, with the intention of getting the customers' feedback and suggestions for the development of future products. Décathlon has five other campuses in France for general operations and for some of its other exclusive brands. Another one is due to be opened at Tourcoing near Lille next March for Kipsta, the team-sports brand of the group.
