Degré 7, a French brand of skiwear, has developed its first spring/summer collection for introduction at retail in 2011. Called Degré 7 Colors, the very colorful line is inspired by the garments worn by the Akhas, en ethnic group that fled southern China to settle in the mountains of northern Thailand. Targeting mainly a female customer, the line consists of about 100 semi-technical garments for hiking, travel and leisurewear including nylon pants and waterproof jackets with Gore-Tex Paclite. Owned by Avance Diffusion, Degré booked sales of €9.3 million last year, two-thirds of that generated in France. They will decline this year following the termination of a contract with the French Ski Federation.
