Due to a technical glitch, we didn't publish the information about the death of Royal Robbins in our last issue. The famous American mountain climber, who founded the outdoor clothing firm that bears his name together with his wife Liz in 1968, passed away in March at the age of 82, after a long illness. In the first climb of its kind in the U.S., the couple went all the way up to the top of the Nutckracker, one of the granite pitches in the Yosemite National Park, in 1967 using only removable nuts. The company, which is currently led by Michael Millenacker, stated that Robbins' environmental advocacy and his love for adventure “provide direction for everything we do.”
