Dynafit, the Salewa brand of ski-touring equipment, has felt the need to comment on Salomon’s recent recall of certain ski boots due to incompatibility with various bindings. The Italian company says that its patent on low-tech inserts has expired and cannot guarantee the quality of certain inserts that may be now legally manufactured by third parties. Currently, the “standard inserts” manufactured by the group are only used by Dynafit and Silvretta (the group’s own brands), as well as by Tecnica and Scarpa. As reported, the “Quick Step-in” insert is only marketed through Dynafit and Scarpa.
