ECCO celebrated the start-up its new tannery attached to its Chinese shoe manufacturing facility at Xiamen, in Fujian province. It will begin production of wet blue in mid-October, and the company plans to add a raw hide warehouse and a beam house in the future. The company made its largest- investment of the kind in this complex operation, trying to reduce waste-to a minimum.
