Effective next winter season, Lowa will be an outdoor company solely dedicated to manufacturing hiking, trekking, mountaineering and other boots designed for outdoor activities. The decision-makers within the Tecnica Group have concluded that Lowa should pull out of the production of ski and touring ski boots under its brand. The decision came altogether without surprise since there has been whispering in the industry about such a step for the last 12 months at least. The relevance of Lowa ski boots has been largely limited to Central Europe, while the group's other main boot brands, Tecnica and Nordica are rather global players. Lowa intends to invest the financial and human resources set free by the pull-out in its core outdoor business (more in the upcoming issue of SGI Europe).
