Eider, the French mountain apparel brand acquired by the Lafuma group two years ago, is moving further into Eastern Europe. Lafuma Poland is introducing Eider in the country and taking up Killy, a brand licensed to Eider, which was already sold widely in Poland through Sportinel. Furthermore, Eider has signed a distribution deal for Hungary and Slovakia starting next year with 3R Boost, a Czech company that also sells Skins, Silkbody, Hestra and Ivanhoe. It will be taking up Eider as well as Killy. The next Eastern market for the Eider brand should be Russia. Killy is already distributed there by Kant, which is not in a position to add Eider since it already sells Salewa. The Eider brand is currently enjoying its strongest European sales growth in Germany and in Switzerland, where it teamed up with Catrade a year and a half ago.
