Adding to his role of director of Schöffel's sales division, the 45-year-old Christophe Weissenberger has taken on the position of brand manager. In this position, he will take care of marketing, product management and design. In recognition of his increasing importance to the company, its managing partner, Peter Schöffel, has promoted Weissenberger to its executive board. The position of brand manager had remained vacant for a couple of years. In earlier days, it was held by managers such as Alex Koska, now senior vice president at Fenix Outdoor, and Maximilian Hofbauer, the long-time general manager of The North Face for the German-speaking countries and now head of European operations for Icebreaker, the brand of merino apparel from New Zealand. Weissenberger worked for Schöffel between 2001 and 2006 and returned to the company in 2010. In between, he ran the European sales of Spyder.
