Alex Kutches, who has spent the last eight years or so in leading positions at Outdoor Research, has become vice president of sales and marketing for Mystery Ranch, an American supplier of very technical and practical backpacks for Special Forces, ski patrollers, fire brigades and other mission-oriented clients. One of his jobs will be to introduce the product range to new markets. A former director of sales for Marmot Mountain, Kutches acted as vice president of sales marketing at Outdoor Research and subsequently became its president. He met the principals of Mystery Ranch, Dana Gleason and Renée Sippel-Baker as a sales representive for Yukon Trading Company, which represented their former company, Dana Design, in the U.S. Northwest. Mystery Ranch is based in Bozeman, Montana, where Oboz also has its home. Its products are made in the U.S. and the Philippines.
