Amer Sports has appointed Jon Hoerauf as president in charge of the sports apparel category, a function that is meant to enable faster growth and to take more advantage of synergies in the Finnish group's apparel business. It has re-formed an apparel category structure that includes the Arc'teryx, Salomon and Peak Performance brands, after it completed the acquisition of the Swedish outdoor, skiing, golf and sportswear brand today. Hoerauf, who has been with Arc'teryx for six years, and as its general manager from March 2016, will continue to report to Heikki Takala, president of Amer Sports. Hoerauf has been appointed as a member of the group's executive board as well. The takeover of Peak Performance from the IC Group was completed after the two parties obtained approval from competition authorities earlier this week. The company will be consolidated from July 2. Amer said it would have a minor positive impact on its financial results this year. It was announced earlier this year that Amer reached an agreement with the IC Group to buy Peak Performance for about €255 million.
