As part of increased investments in the British market, Patagonia has hired Lisa Douglas as marketing manager for the U.K. and Ireland, starting from the beginning of March. Previously at Musto and Bench, Douglas will be based at the office and showroom opened by the outdoor brand in a Victorian warehouse in Manchester's city center in October. Patagonia previously had a showroom near Oxford Circus in London and another in Hathersage, in the Peak District, which were both closed. This comes after the appointment of Alex Beasley as country manager for the U.K. and Ireland, who started in August and organized the opening of the new premises. The office will also be used by dealer services and the northern part of the sales team. Patagonia said that the proximity to Manchester's international airport will provide easy access for other managers traveling from Europe and the U.S., and the location is near other outdoor companies as well as the city's train station. Another advantage is that the office is situated near some of the most attractive hiking, climbing and fishing areas in the U.K.
