At the beginning of this year, Hanwag appointed Albrecht Volz to the new position of country manager for Germany. Thomas Gröber, chief executive of Hanwag, has until now been responsible for the German market. Volz has worked for Hanwag since 2013. He spent four years as a sales representative and became sales manager for the German market in 2017. Earlier in his career, the 35-year-old served on the sales staff at various sporting goods stores before becoming sales director for One Way and a sales representative for Salomon. Christian Wittig assumed the newly created position of international marketing director at the beginning of this year. He has worked previously for Hanwag, serving as communication manager from 2013 to 2016. From there, he moved to Sweden to work at the headquarters of Fenix and complete a management-training program. He thereafter became an event manager for Fenix and then head of sales and international export manager at Fjällräven. Florian Kern, 32, was appointed in January to a third new position at Hanwag, head of service. Kern has been on Hanwag's internal sales team since 2014. This new position is intended to bolster the company's customer service in Vierkirchen.
