Axel Brosch has been appointed general manager for Central Europe at Oberalp, starting on March 1. He succeeds Christoph Mannel, who resigned unexpectedly from his position in May last year. Benedikt Böhm, general brand manager at Oberalp, assumed Mannel's responsibilities on an interim basis. From Alpbach, a village in the Tirol region of Austria, he will manage the Salewa, Dynafit, Wild Country and Pomoca brands as well as sales of the Speedo and Silva brands in Germany and Austria, following the new sales structure that was introduced Central Europe in August 2016. Brosch has been working for 34 years in the sporting goods sector. Most recently, he was business unit director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Oakley. Brosch reports directly to Claes Broqvist, chief sales officer, who is working out of Oberalp's headquarters in Bolzano.
