After working for Salomon, Patagonia and Columbia Sportswear for the past 12 years, Paul Anderton is returning to Berghaus at its head office in Sunderland to serve in the new position of head of category for product and innovation, working closely with James Hodgson, head of design for the British outdoor brand.
Earlier this year, Berghaus’ parent company, Pentland Brands, had decided to double the size of the brand’s product development team, expanding its lifestyle offer and creating groundbreaking new products such as its Extrem range. Berghaus also introduced a dedicated “Sprint Team” to take certain lines to the market faster than standard processes.
Anderton cut his teeth in the outdoor industry as key account manager at Berghaus between 2005 and 2007, after a period of strong growth for the brand. He previously worked for Hurley, Nike and Quiksilver, as well as Casio. He then served as apparel product manager at Salomon, as head of product, merchandising and planning for Patagonia in the EMEA region and, most recently, as senior merchandise manager at Columbia.
