Bern Helmets has announced an expanded leadership team. Founder Dennis Leedom will join Adam Godwin, CFO, in leading a team of seasoned action sports professionals from the new headquarters in the Cordage Commerce Center, a renovated industrial park in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Leedom has more than 25 years of experience in the action sports industry and recently returned to the company. Prior to founding Bern, he founded Leedom Helmets, pioneered the first recreational snow helmet in the U.S. with Boeri Sport USA and began his career as a ski instructor in Squaw Valley. Leedom founded Bern in 2004 in a barn he built next to his home.
In addition to Leedom and Godwin, who had previously worked at Bern for more than 13 years, the leadership team includes John Phaneuf, director of global sales; Leah Markham, creative services manager; and Kenneth Perkins, director of product design at Bern’s Brooklyn design studio. In addition to the new leadership team and headquarters, Bern has expanded its supply chain with a new customer-facing warehouse near its Plymouth headquarters, with the goal of improving the customer experience.
Key marketing initiatives this year under Markham’s leadership are said to include working with key partners such as MIPS and Lime, collaborating with athletes and ensuring Bern exceeds consumer expectations by providing a premium online shopping experience.
