Blaise Agresti is joining Petzl at the start of August to become global commercial director at the beginning of next year. Currently stationed in the Pyrenees, Agresti is a mountain guide with a diploma from the French military school of Saint-Cyr. Among other assignments for the Gendarmerie Nationale, he has been a mountaineering consultant and commander of the skiing and alpinism instruction center (CNISAG) in Chamonix, where high altitude rescue teams are trained. Agresti will replace Patrick Werlé, who has been with Petzl for nearly ten years and is retiring to pursue other projects in Thailand. Agresti will also become a member of Petzl's newly-formed executive committee. He was already one of the external members of the board of directors of the Petzl foundation. Petzl reinforced its international team earlier this year with the arrival of Benoît Gazagnes, who has been supervising subsidiaries and agents in most of Europe since February. He returned to Petzl after two years as French country manager for Icebreaker.
