Cascade Designs, the Seattle-based parent company of MSR, Therm-a-Rest, Platypus, SealLine, PackTowl and Varilite, has made three new hires in its sales and IT departments. Tim Lau will join the team as international sales manager for Canada and APAC, Jenni Schmidt will serve as senior sales & operations manager and Mirza Beg is the company’s new IT director.
Prior to joining Cascade, Lau held key account and national sales management positions at Yeti Cycles, Timberland and The North Face. Schmidt, Cascade’s new senior sales & operations manager, previously held sales positions at Atlas Networks, Glowforge, Rover and REI. In her most recent position, she led a team of customer service and technical support representatives at Atlas Networks and developed several product and performance improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction. Beg’s career spans 24 years of experience leading IT operations in a variety of industries, from aerospace to agriculture to construction to consumer products. He brings a broad range of technology skills, from applications to infrastructure to strategic planning and execution. In his most recent role, he led efforts to modernize his company’s technology with the introduction of robotic process automation and migration to cloud infrastructure.
