Dale of Norway, the specialty manufacturer of knitted functional outerwear, has hired Bjørn Burkhalter as new international sales manager. With this move, the 37-year-old returns to both his country, Norway, and the sporting goods business. At Dale, he will take over his position by mid-February. He replaces Lorents Tvedt, who has taken care of the export business on an interim basis for two years. The 50-year-old will continue to work for the Norwegian company as product manager and head of research and development. He will focus on the products that are not manufactured in the town of Dale, which are basically knit shells and merino-based products. Burkhalter served Reebok as operations & apparel product manager for more than three years before he joined Odlo as area sales manager. After his time with Odlo, he left the industry for a while to work as a business development manager at Interactive Brokers.
